I am vice chair of this amazing club that we have built together. I have been a cyclist for quite a few years completing local sportives along with Ride London 100 a couple of times. In 2017 my wife Carly surprised me with an entry to a local sprint triathlon for my birthday after I may have whispered once that I would like to do one. That was the push that I needed to get into triathlon and I haven’t looked back, as part of the training I needed to start running so started with a new group that started in Poundbury. The group quickly grew and we wanted all wanted to enter races as a team so myself and a couple of the original runners decided that we should start Dorchester first mixed sex affiliated running group….So Dorchester RIOT was born

Since then it has been really enjoyable to see the club and the team grow representing the club at local (and not so local events) members being proud to wear the RIOT club kit on their holidays and whilst out on their training runs. Its great to spot a RIOT top in the distance and know that you were a part in kicking it off.

It has also been amazing in our first few months to see people join the club as a newcomer to running as I did and then push themselves to achieve things that they wouldn’t believed were possible thanks to the support, encouragement and sometimes peer pressure from other RIOT members!

My role in within the club is quite varied but consists of ordering the clothing, adding to the brimming members discount range and generally helping the other committee members with anything that is needed. I lead and tail groups as and when required but randomly run in each group to try and meet as many of our members as I can.

Never thought i would be entering a 10k when i started the c25k back in january but thanks to this great bunch of people now just 2 weeks away and more importantly loving it
