Dorchester RIOT members have a lot to look forward to over the spring
Not just the lighter evenings which means we’ll be able to take some of our Thursday night runs off-road. This spring we begin our “RIOT on Tour” parkrun tourism, we’ll be arranging to go to six other parkruns, starting with Seaton on 21st April, a seafront course with a beach finish.
On the 29th April, we climbed 1200ft of elevation to conquer summit Hardy on a challenging 13 mile route to the top of Hardy’s Monument. All running abilities joined us, we set off from Poundbury in two waves with a tortoise and hare challenge to add a bit of excitement. There was a pit stop at the top of the summit to refuel and take photos before the final leg. Look out for more events like this coming up on our Facebook page
With spring comes a busy event calendar with RIOT members representing at lots of events around the county, however we are expecting our biggest RIOT turnout yet with over 30 of us supporting at, or running the Dorchester Marathon or Casterbridge Half on the 27th May. If you would like to support our runners and help out at the feedstation let us know, all help is gratefully received.
